This isn’t really what I would call a captivating moment, but as I sat on a bench looking out at the river, this snake crawled over. I pulled my feet up onto the bench and stood there looking down at the snake, and then the snake saw me and froze in it’s tracks. Perhaps, it knew I was a photographer? Well, all I had was a camera phone, but I took a few pictures before it decided to crawl away. The original pictures were awful and I really wish I had my good camera, but thanks to some editing software, I managed to clean one of them up.
Here is a little information about Copperheads. They don’t seem to be very agressive and according to some reading I did, they aren’t typically fatal; I know from news reports that small children have died from their bites. If you are bitten, it is extremely painful and you need to seek medical care as soon as you can. The bite can leave scaring and may also cause a lose of use to the area that was bitten. In short, it is best to leave Copperheads and snakes alone. Live and let live?
