So it’s finally here….your senior year of high school!! This is such a huge milestone in your life and we want to capture this special time for you. Being well prepared for your senior session will make for an amazing experience. Below are some tips to help you along the way as you plan for your exciting day.
The biggest question is always…
What Do I Wear?!
A variety of outfits that show off your true personality…your favorite pair of jeans and several different styles of tops, casual dress, prom dress (you need to wear it more than once, right!!), etc. Bring what makes YOU feel awesome!
Girls ~ you may want to wear nude undergarments (& a strapless bra is always a good idea)
Guys ~ if you wear a t-shirt under your button up, make sure it’s a v-neck so it won’t show
* Bright, jewel toned colors that compliment your skin tone or airy fabrics in cream & whites paired with darker colors
*Layers always look great!
*You can never go wrong with scarves to compliment your wardrobe
*Functional clothing: if you want the most out of your poses, you need to be able to sit, squat and stand comfortably
*Classic and thin chained jewelry paired with simple earrings
*During the summer months I know it’s hot outside, but you can never go wrong with a couple of images with that favorite jean or leather jacket
*Bring along a few shoe options and some flats to actually walk in while we are getting to our destination
What NOT to Wear!
*Wrinkled, dull clothes
*Clothes with a busy pattern ~ camo or plaid
*Short length skirts, dresses or shorts
*Low cut shirts, blouses or dresses
*Tight fitting clothing that accentuates problem areas
Additional Items to Bring:
Any prop that tells about YOU! This could be a musical instrument, sports gear like a volleyball or baseball bat, letter jacket, class ring, a favorite book(s), sunglasses, etc. Remember, you are bringing several clothing options so a garment bag will come in handy along with some kind of tote to carry your extra shoes, props and makeup (for touch ups)

Additional Tips:
Hydration & Rest –
Please remember to drink lots of water the day before our session and make sure you get plenty of rest the night before!
Nails:
If you paint your nails, make sure they are well done for your session. Chipped nails will show up and it’s not a good look. Choose a neutral color to compliment your outfits. Guys, make sure your nails are clean and trimmed.
Tanning:
If you are planning time at the pool or beach, please wear sunscreen to avoid getting a sunburn. And remember, those tan lines need to be accounted for when choosing your outfits for the session.
Makeup:
This is one of the best preparations you can make for your session. A subtle application of make-up can really soften your skin and accentuate your facial features. If you wear eyeliner apply it as you normally would but apply a little more mascara than usual. This will make your eyes “pop”. Bring along your makeup and lip gloss to touch up as needed.
Hair:
Choose a natural style that will withstand the wind while shooting outdoors. Bring along hair clips and bobby pins in case you want to pull it up for a different look (or in case it’s extremely windy). Bring along your brush and hairspray in case it’s needed.
Facial Hair:
Men, be freshly shaved with a new razor. Using shaving cream and a moisturizing after shaving will help to avoid bumps and redness. Trim up your beard, sideburns, moustache or goatee.
